Solar Shadows Records

So some things changed

The visual artists, other than the live painters (who did a swell job for a communal effort and doing it on-the-spot, by the way!), did not end up showing for the event.  Quite bizarre.  Solar Shadows ended up doing a regular-length set under the main pavilion to ruin people’s days and dissolve families, doing a renewed rendition (sadly, sans guitar) of his infamous “What Makes My Music Noise?” typewriter set.

Perplexing many, angering a couple of people outright, thrilling the faithful, the set was considered a success by most people already interested in noise.

¡But calamity struck!… he didn’t hit the “Pause” button on his trusty cassette stereo to start up the recording until he was halfway through the set already.  A local badass by the name of Christopher Lee, whose apparent tendency to document shows is probably only matched by his prowess with women after-hours or his single-handed repulsion of the alien invasion that almost happened last week, apparently recorded the set.

He had this to say via the Internet,

“I enjoyed your set even more when I re-listened to it. My recording almost did the performance justice, I think. I must get your copy to you as soon as possible.”

We here at SSR are thrilled beyond our ability to do a short Internet blog.

Thanks to everyone that attended, especially those that stuck around during my set, particularly those organizing it, and SUPER especially Howard Steeley.  The poor fellow was losing his voice HARD as the evening went on, and he was last spotted heroically drinking PBR as if the Pabst Brewing Company needed assistance in fending off The Recession, but he earned every can.
